On October 18, 1929, women in Canada were legally declared as persons. Nellie McClung, as one of the Famous Five, had succeeded in changing women’s rights forever in Canada. This script follows McClung’s struggle as a voice for women, including her experiences as an unmarried school teacher, her arguments with political leaders, her satirical play about the right to vote, and her eventual victory in the Supreme Court of Canada.
